Privacy Policy
Effective 2026-09-07
This policy describes what information Atuund collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. We collect only what is needed to operate and improve the product.
Summary
- The free tools run entirely in your browser. They do not require an account, and your room data is not sent to our servers.
- With a Workstation account, we store the rooms, speaker setups, and measurement results you save, so you can return to them.
- Audio from your microphone is processed in your browser and is never uploaded.
- We do not sell personal data or serve advertising.
- You can contact support@atuund.com to request access to, correction of, export of, or deletion of your personal data.
What we collect
Account details. Sign-in is provided through your Google account. We receive your name, email address, and profile picture from Google. Atuund does not receive or store your password.
Your acoustic data. When you save work in the Workstation, we store the content you created: room shapes, dimensions, and materials; speaker and listener positions; and computed measurement results such as frequency response, RT60, and clarity metrics, associated with your account.
Microphone audio. The measurement suite uses your microphone only after you grant permission in your browser, and only while a measurement is running. The audio is analyzed on your device and is never uploaded. When you save a measurement, only the computed results are stored.
Usage analytics. We use PostHog to understand how the product is used, including pages visited, features used, and session replay of Workstation activity. Session replay masks the contents of input fields. If you are signed in, this activity is associated with your email address so that we can understand product usage across sessions. This information is used only to improve the product.
Payment details. Payments are processed by Stripe. Card details are transmitted directly to Stripe and are not stored on or processed by our servers; we store only your subscription status and a Stripe customer reference. While the Workstation is in free beta, no payment details are collected.
Correspondence. If you contact support or the concierge service, we retain the correspondence in order to respond and provide assistance.
Server logs. Our hosting provider records standard technical logs, including IP addresses, to keep the service running and secure.
What we do not do
- We do not sell or rent personal data.
- We do not serve advertising or share data with advertising networks.
- We do not upload microphone audio; measurement processing happens on your device.
- We do not collect your room data from the free tools. Beyond the same page analytics used across the site, the calculations run entirely in your browser.
Who processes data for us
We rely on a small number of service providers to operate Atuund. Each receives only the information required for its function:
- Google - sign-in (OAuth)
- Supabase - database storage for your saved rooms, setups, and measurement results
- PostHog - usage analytics and session replay (hosted in the United States)
- Stripe - payment processing
- Vercel - hosting and server logs
Atuund is operated from the United States, and data is processed there.
Cookies
We use a session cookie to keep you signed in, and PostHog sets cookies and browser storage to support analytics. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
Security
We use appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data. All traffic between your browser and Atuund is encrypted in transit, and our service providers encrypt stored data at rest. Access to production data is limited to what is needed to operate the service.
Retention and deletion
We keep your data for as long as your account is active. Email support@atuund.com to delete your account, and we will remove your saved data and analytics profile.
Your rights
Where the GDPR applies, we process your account and acoustic data as necessary to perform our contract with you, and usage analytics on the basis of our legitimate interest in improving the product.
You may request access to, correction of, export of, or deletion of your personal data by contacting support@atuund.com. If you are located in the EU/EEA, the United Kingdom, or California, these rights are also protected under applicable law, including the GDPR and the CCPA.
Children
Atuund is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes to this policy
If we make meaningful changes, we will update the effective date above. For significant changes affecting account holders, we will provide notice by email before they take effect.
